Coaching Agreement
This coaching agreement between us will set out the ground rules for our coaching relationship and clarify expectations.
Definition of Coaching
Coaching is a co-active partnership between Coach and Client. We will work together to achieve your goals through a thought-provoking creative process that will empower you to find your answers within yourself and maximize your personal and professional potential. It is designed to facilitate the creation/development of your goals and to develop and carry out the strategy/plan for achieving those goals.
What is not coaching
Coaching is not therapy and does not substitute for therapy if needed, and does not prevent, cure, or treat any mental disorder or medical disease. Coaching focuses on what is now and how to achieve goals in the future.
Coach – Client Relationship
As your coach, I am committing myself to:
meeting you on the dates and time(s) we have agreed upon.
I will endeavour to create a safe and confidential learning environment so that you develop your self-awareness and take responsibility for managing your learning.
I will offer you unconditional and non-judgemental support always recognising that you are your own life expert.
I agree that you are solely responsible for creating and implementing your own decisions, choices and results arising out of or resulting from our coaching relationship.
I may challenge you to dig deeper and explore alternate perspectives.
I will hold you accountable to your goals to achieve your desired outcome.
In undertaking to see me for coaching you are committing yourself to seeing me regularly at the agreed times. For our coaching relationship to work well and for you to get the most out of your session(s), it will be important for you to come to your coaching sessions:
Serious about wanting to change.
Communicate honestly and create the time and energy to participate fully in sessions.
Prepared to explore and analyse the aspects of your life that you want to change.
Ready to manage the negative thoughts and feelings, attitudes, behaviours and actions that hold you back.
Prepared to try out new ideas or ways of doing things and reflect and learn from the experience.
Prepared to listen to feedback and act on it where appropriate to do so.
Prepared to spend time in between sessions working through any action points you set
Agree you are solely responsible for creating and implementing your decisions, choices, actions and results arising out of or resulting from the coaching relationship.
You will choose how to use each session and be accountable for reflection and taking action between sessions to assist you in how you focus on your goals.
